Frequently asked questions about Skoborstar

How do I clean my shoe brush?

Rinse the brush in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap and gently work through the bristles with your fingers. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Let the brush dry lying down or with the bristles facing down, never standing on the bristles, and not too close to a radiator. Heat and moisture trapped in the brush can damage both the bristles and the handle and shorten the life of the brush.

What is the difference between natural and synthetic bristles?

Natural bristles, such as horsehair or goat hair, are soft and flexible and pick up and spread shoe cream evenly and gently. They are ideal for polishing and finer leather. Synthetic bristles are harder and more durable and do a better job of scrubbing mud, grit and heavy dirt off soles and outer surfaces. A complete shoe care kit needs both.

How often should I brush my shoes?

Brush your shoes after each wear, especially when it is dry outside. Everyday dust and dirt that is left on the shoes works its way into the material and can cause discolouration and wear over time. It only takes a minute and is the single easiest way to extend the life of your shoes.
